FIFA is reeling from another scandal related to the World Cup bids after the dust settled on the Adamu-Temani Affair.
The countries that are involved in the latest scandal are Qatar and Spain/Portugal. The person who reported about the latest scandal is Michel Zen-Rufman who was a former Secretary General of FIFA.
Mr. Zen-Ruffman also accused certain executive committee members of selling their votes «for money or for women». He further elaborated that vote trading between Qatar and Spain/Portugal are a «fact» with both teams agreeing to «swap votes».
Mr. Zen-Ruffman continued to say that he was against «bribery» but that two executive committee members can be convinced to vote one way using women or money.
He made his allegations in a recording with undercover reporters from the Sunday TImes posing as lobbyists.
Mr. Zen-Ruffman was Secretary General of FIFA until he wrote a dossier against Sepp Blatter during the 2002 Election in FIFA. He resigned after Blatter was reelected. I often wander if this individual is either doing this out of revenge against Blatter or because he wants change at FIFA.
I am of the opinion that Mr. Zen-Ruffman wants to bring publicity for himself and come out as a shining star. The end result could be that he could one day be investigated.
At the time of this article, the bidding nations for the FIFA World Cup are going to be attending a special FIFA Meeting to discuss these latest allegations.
