In my Christmas special, I have invited Frank Nitts to talk about Tropix Entertainment and Music. He accepted and the following was done via E Mail.

 

1. How did you get your start in the music business?

 

1. 1.      I always had an interest in music and hip-hop. Born in Queens, NY it was all over. My mother was a strong influence, she would rap songs on the radio with me in the car.  So it really started when I was 15. It began with rapping in Myrtle Beach, SC. A friend of mine that was in a band introduced me to a local producer and after some artist development we recorded my first album on cassette tape. After that I began recording at other studios trying to improve my sound.  I started producing original music shortly after, I knew it was my calling. 

 

2. How was Tropix Entertainment started?

2. Tropix Entertainment was started in 2002 as a two man operation in Orlando, FL during college at Full Sail University. We moved down to Miami with a third business partner and opened up our recording studio, in house. We all shared the same passion and per-sued it. Making our own music and recording local artist was how it started.

3. What are the activities of Tropix Entertainment?

3. When we opened Tropix Entertainment there where 3 business partners, now we have 8 partners involved in everyday operations of Tropix. As a multi-media company we try to cover all aspects of the entertainment industry.  We stick to our passion and make the sickest beats around, but we also offer graphic design, web design-development, promotions(being online or in the streets), artist management, clothing, and of course always affordable studio time. Right now I am currently working on my solo album called No More Waiting. We are also working with Coppa Stone, Big Gank, Magyva, Young Dex, Blista Beats, and Nitts and Lynch Productions.

 

4. What is your advice for those who want to get started in the music business?

 

4. The best advice I can give to anyone that wants to get involved in the music business is to be ready!!  Its not an easy or pretty business. After doing this for so long, I am still trying to get my foot in the door. You can make the best music but it really does not matter for the most part.  Knowing the right people, being at the right place at the right time, and a lot of money can make the most untalented people become successful.  In this business like most the competition is overwhelming, so you have to be on top of your game all the time. Stick with it, be prepared for the long haul.  It takes a lot of support from friends and family if you want to make it on your own as a recording artist.

5. What words do you have for your fans and for the public this Christmas season?

 

5. Be safe and positive and enjoy the time you have on this planet.  I wish nothing but the best for my friends and family and the world!
