For James M. Dorsey:
I would like to congratulate you on your article about the Egyptian Football League Cancellation. The same applies to the news about Libya and Algeria on «The Turbulent World Of Middle East Soccer».
It is a disgrace that Football/Soccer has fallen prey to the political passions of the day. It even hurt more when I found out about the cancellation of the friendly tournament between the USA and Egypt on February 9, 2011.
While the USA defeated Egypt in the FIFA Confederation Cup in 2009, Egypt hoped to win as a form of revenge against the sting of defeat. We will never know what could have happened if the match had been played.
Best wishes
Roberto Alvarez-Galloso
