Hello friends of Killian Pines UMC,
 
This Saturday, April 2, First United Methodist Church of Miami – 400 Biscayne Blvd – will hold its annual Foot Washing for homeless persons in the downtown area.
 
If you have not already made any other commitments for 12:00 – 3:00 pm, I want to invite you to do something that may be totally new to you. Members of First UMC and volunteers from other congregations in Miami, will wash the feet of homeless persons, podiatry students will tend to their physical needs, new socks and shoes will be fitted and distributed and lunch will be served. It is expected that about 200 men, women and even children will come to receive these services.
 
Even if you did not attend the orientation last week, there will be plenty of work for all to do. If you decide to help, be there by noon to receive instructions. People who help with this ministry have a heart warming experience of profound spiritual significance. This is a small way for you to make a big difference in someone’s life. Think about this, pray about this, participate and if possible make a financial gift through Killian Pines designated for the Homeless Ministry at First UMC of Miami.
 
The mission field is very close to us. No need to travel overseas to go on a «mission trip.»  Downtown Miami may seem like another world to us, but it is part of the World God So Loves!
