HRH CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE VISITS CHILDREN’S HOSPITALS FOR THE EASTER HOLIDAYS
Belgrade, 19 April 2011 –
Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine traditionally visited the Institute for Mother and Child, children’s department at the Institute of Oncology and University Children’s Hospital for the forthcoming Easter holidays and delivered presents to the young patients.
Crown Princess Katherine first visited the Institute for Mother and Child in New Belgrade, where Doc Dr Vladislav Vukomanovic, Head of Paediatrics and several doctors and nurses welcomed her. Crown Princess Katherine then visited a department with 30 children, wished them Happy Easter and a speedy recovery, and delivered presents to all the children.
After that, Crown Princess Katherine went to the opening of the conference “Club as function of social inclusion” at the Municipality Stari Grad in Belgrade, organized by associations GRIG and “Living together”. Addressing the participants at the conference, Crown Princess Katherine emphasized: “I support social inclusion very much, and I am trying to encourage people with disabilities to take part in all aspects of social life according to their interests and needs. That is crucially important for modern and advanced societies”.
Crown Princess Katherine then visited the University Children’s Hospital in Tirsova where she was welcomed by Dr Milan Djukic, Deputy Director of the Clinic. Crown Princess Katherine visited the departments of endocrinology, gastroenterology and neurology and delivered presents to 34 children, and wished the young patients Happy Easter and a swift recovery.
Crown Princess Katherine also visited the Children’s department at the Institute for Oncology, where Prof. Dr Zoran Rakocevic, Director of the Institute and Dr Jelena Bokun, Head of Children’s Oncology Department welcomed her. Princess Katherine delivered Easter presents to the youngest patients at the Institute.
