The most memorable goal for me in recent history was the goal by Landon Donovan that helped the USA defeat Algeria in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

I was watching the 2010 FIFA World Cup on TV and listening to it on the radio in a Miami Florida restaurant. The people including myself were angry at the referees for ruling against the USA.

I was afraid that the USA was going to lose to Algeria. When all seemed lost, every one cheered when Landon Donovan scored the last minute goal.

My heart breathed relief. During the day, a coworker congratulated me on the US victory and converted to US Soccer. It was for this reason that the goal by Landon Donovan for the US over Algeria was unforgettable.
