Mark Denny Preston: «Dodgin Bullets»

Mark Denny Preston has been storming the Texas and the rest of the United States of America with his alternative form of music which can be called «Texville». The definition of «Texville» is a mixture of Texas Music, Nashville, Country, Rock, and a dose of reality that is absent in mainstream music.

Mark Denny Preston is not a typical singer songwriter who writes according to the whims of the powers that be in the music world of Nashville, Hollywood, and New York. He has received inspiration from a diverse group of artists such as Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard,  Bob Dylan,  Led Zeppelin and  Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Mark Denny Preston also learned from different genres such as Blues, Rock, and Country to form his own style which dealt with real life issues such as: pain, agony, abusive relationships, being positive, and being down to earth. He has sent a powerful message with his music challenging people to be real and down to earth.

Mark Denny Preston started in the music business with the release of his first album titled «Dodgin Bullets». The album was recorded around 2010 and released in 2011. He recorded the song in collaboration with Randy R. Carson, Douglas Roberts, and Thomas Jay Southard.

The first song «Ride The Lightning» left me with the impression of how life throws things at us and how we as human beings must learn how to deal directly with the situation.  The song titled «He Made A Man Out of Me» was written by Mark Denny Preston in collaboration with Douglas S. Cook.

The song «He Made A Man Out Of Me» dealt with the relationship between Mark Denny Preston and his father. The song went into detail about what Mark Denny Preston learned in life. The conclusion [in my opinion] is the universal thought that life is not easy and it is not painted as a «rosy paradise» as described in soap operas.

Mark Denny Preston with his maiden album «Dodgin Bullets» will be remembered as a defining trend in the attempt to bring American [especially Texas and Southern] Music back to its roots. Mark Denny Preston is an alternative to the mediocrity of mainstream music and its «assembly line» methods of producing musicians and singers.

Mark Denny Preston will go down in the history of Texas Music as A Singer Songwriter for the 21st Century who liberated Texas, Southern, and American Music from its artificial flavor. He did it with his album “Dodgin Bullets”.
