While the London ceremonies were great, NBC and Telemundo made a mistake in prerecording it. There were others who received the ceremonies live on the internet and other received ticker reports.

Of course, I am talking from the viewpoint of a person who was at Beijing during the 2008 Summer Olympics. What I saw in Beijing were a lot of fireworks, drum ceremonies with attention to details. The public participated in the performances especially in the Birds Nest.

What I saw in the London ceremonies left much to be desired especially from one of the greatest cities in the world.  I managed to hear one singer interpret the Beatles «Come Together» when it should have been one of the original Beatles especially Paul Mc Cartney.

Of course there are some good that came out of the Olympics. The USWNT team with Hope Solo, Abby Wambach, and Alex Morgan won all of their matches defeating North Korea, Colombia, and France. Regardless, there were some matches that were televised and others that were not.

What about some of the programs of the Olympics on Prime Time instead of the daytime? NBC and Telemundo appeared to care little for the people who watch their programs when it comes to the Olympics.

At least the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing had more coverage and publicity than the 2012 games.  There were certain journalists who had nothing else to do or say without criticisms of the destructive type.

Who cannot forget when Brandi Chastain made remarks about the US Women National Team (World Football) on the eve of their match against New Zealand? At least Hope Solo, Alex Morgan, and Abby Wambach gave their best.

I do not know what to make of these Olympics except that the television coverage and reporting by NBC and Telemundo leaves much to be desired.
