Why Karim Benzema Will Not Sign With Arsenal

Karim Djaziri said that his client Karim Benzema of Real Madrid will not sign with Arsenal during this Transfer Window. Djaziri made his statements in an interview published in Le Journal Du Dimanche with a h/t to ESPN-FC.

He went further to say that Benzema may end his career playing for Los Galacticos. Djaziri is right to say that Benzema will not go to Arsenal for the following reasons.

The Gunners are not the team to sign with if Benzema wants to win silverware. The last time Arsenal won silverware was nearly a decade ago in 2005.

In that year, Arsenal defeated Manchester United on the basis of penalties after extra time to win the FA Cup. While participating in the UEFA Champions League, they did not advance beyond the round of 16 within the last three seasons.

Robin Van Persie was aware of the need to leave Arsenal if he wanted to win silverware. In addition to the lack of silverware, Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger is feeling pressure after a loss to Aston Villa.

The loss to Aston Villa along with problems encountered in the current transfer window places Wenger in a fragile position. While Arsenal managed to defeat Fenerbahce and Fulham within one week, it has a long way to go.

Arsenal is currently in eighth place in the 2013/14 EPL tables with one win, one loss, four goals in favor and one against. The current goal differential for Arsenal is zero.

According to UEFA, Arsenal is number six in its ranking. While this may change in the future, Arsenal is not the team for Benzema.

Real Madrid is currently in eighth place with three points with one win, no loss or draw. Los Galacticos have two goals for and one against with a differential of one.

Los Galacticos are currently number four in the UEFA ranking and have been in the semifinals before their defeat in the hands of Borussia Dortmund.

Real Madrid won silverware within the same period that Arsenal was unable to obtain for reasons that cannot be explained. Los Merengues won La Liga in 2007, 2008, and 2012.

Los Galacticos won the Spanish Supercopa and Copa Del Rey within the same year of 2012. While there could be last minute changes in the Transfer Window, Benzemaleaving Spain and Real Madrid to sign with the Gunners is impossible.
