“It Is About Time”

Some of you reading this probably remember the song “Does Anybody Really Know
What Time It Is” sung by The Chicago Transit Authority (later shortened to “Chicago”) This is really a very important question. Esther was a Jew and became the queen of Persia at a time when King Xerxes was plotting to slaughter the Jews in captivity. Esther found herself in a position to save her people. Her uncle said: “And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?” (Est. 4:14b) . Something very powerful happens when people realize that they are in the right place and time to become God’s instruments in the world. Prayer and reflection will bring into focus what you alone can contribute to people and situations. You do not have to be a person of great fame or power. Common people can achieve extraordinary things when willing to submit to Divine direction. Yes, you can turn your back and walk away from “such a time like this” and that will also change the course of history. It is important to know the times and make the right choices. With God’s help, you are the only one who can decide how you will make a difference for good. Your influence will live into eternity after your life here has run its course. The “Chicago” song also asks another important question: “Does anybody really care? Start today right where you are. You were meant for a time like this. I pray that you know your time and that you really care!
