It is with sadness that I hear that you are retiring from Professional Soccer but it is understandable your position. I would like to extend my congratulations to you for your positive contributions for US Soccer here in America and the world.
If it were not for you and other pioneers, the MLS and the USMNT would not be where it is at the present time. At a time when people debate whether or not you should have been in the 2014 World Cup roster, you showed the world the power within with a goal that sealed the MLS All Stars Victory over Bayern Munich.
Your greatest moment in my book was when you scored the last minute goal against Algeria during the 2010 World Cup. In addition to your accomplishments on the field, you deserve to be remembered for helping those that are less fortunate and being a professional at all times.
You will be missed but your presence and spirit will continue to flourish in future World Cup and MLS matches. My best wishes from Miami, Florida
