Carrie Underwood started the Super Bowl XLIX Kickoff shows with her juicy rendition of the introductions song. After the introduction of the members of the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots, the Walter Payton Award was celebrated.

After a one minute tribute for Ann Mara [New York Giants Matriarch] who recently passed away, John Legend sang his stirring version of “America the Beautiful”. The Joint Service Cover Guard paid tribute to America as well as Idina Menzel with an emotional rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner”.

While every Kickoff Show is different, every one of them has been beautiful in taste, décor, respect, and professionalism. This one is NO exception and deserves a perfect ten.
