In our journey through the world of true music, Jim Callahan took time from his busy schedule to meet with the Alvarez-Galloso News Hour to discuss his latest release «The Stories from Edison Road»
1 What inspired you to record The Stories from Edison Road?
When I was a teenager, in Mount Gilead Ohio, Edison Road was a sort of meeting place, hang-out, and I suppose, a sort of hide out. If any of my friends or I were looking for a place to «hide away» with our girlfriend, it would be the first or second road to the right … Just off from Edison Road. I tasted my first beer on Edison Road. I smoked my first cigarettes on Edison Road. I wrecked my first car, in the snow, as I turned off from Edison Road. And on more than one occasion, that’s where my teenage friends met to fight for their honor or to drag race.
2. How long did it take to record and produce the album?
As you know, Stories From Edison Road is a double EP set. Josh Martin produced the collection. We started in late November of 2013 with some preliminary work, along the way we expanded from the original 6 songs to 12. To complicate matters, I had a severe battle with allergies in February, March and April of 2014. Volume 1 was released on July 3rd of 2014. Volume 2 was released on September 3rd of 2014.
3. Where can you buy the CD?
Downloads are available online from iTunes, AmazonMp3, and most other major download sites. They can also be downloaded from me at Reverbnation.com/JimCallahan
