In an era of elections, there has been an ongoing attacks on services that are efficient such as Amtrak. The only «crime» is that Amtrak is funded by the US Federal Government and has had a string of problems.

While nothing is perfect in America and there has been problems, Amtrak does not deserve to be attacked and demonized with the purpose of an ultimate privatization. I still remember the great service during my trip to Connecticut (as well as the dedicated enployees) nearly three years ago and given between a domestic flight and Amtrak would choose the latter.
