Jen Hajj : A Brief Reflection On A 21st Century Troubador [The AG News Show]

At a time when the world needs peace and tranquility, there are artists who provide an alternative to the wars and instability prevalent in every day life. One of these artists is Jen Hajj with her down to earth and back to nature style of music.

Ms. Hajj is a continuation of the folk music traditions of Bob Dylan and Joan Baez with her songs such as «Hawk You Are My Brother» or her musical arrangement of e.e. Cummings «I Give You My Heart». Her song «Drop Of Gold» and «The Man Who Planted Trees» from her CD «Shelter Song«evokes a tranquility that reminds the underwriter of an early morning walk through the countryside [appreciating the sounds of owls as well as feeling the scent of forests] or even the beach [listening to the seahawks and the ocean caressing the sand].

The same applies to her other album «I Of The Storm» especially the song «Rain» and «Water On The Wasteland» which further emphasizes the need for a healthy relationship between humanity and nature. I highly recommend the music of Jen Hajj in order to help those achieve peace and harmony in life.

For those who scoff at such remarks, I am testimony to what was written. It was the music of Jen Hajj [as well as other artists] who saved me in life when the idea of throwing everything away was in the cards.

Regardless of what transpires in life, the music of Jen Hajj will always have a place in my life. I hope one day to see her perform here in Florida or in the West as it would be an unforgettable moment.
