Mario Balotelli was the subject of racists chants in the Serie A match between Verona and Brescia last weekend. While many have denied it and Mr. Balotelli has had his differences in the past, racism as well as a politics and religion has no place in sports especially football.

As 2019 draws to a close, I challenge all football [and sports] fans to SAY NO TO RACISM, POLITICS, AND RELIGION IN SPORTS. I extend the challenge to all of the associations, teams, and personalities that have to do with sports even though at times many have told me that it could never be eradicated «because of human nature».

The time has come to eliminate racism in sports by denouncing racism where it is via photographs, videos, comments, and blogs. Don’t let a few frustrated people ruin it for everyone
