In 1776 the Declaration of Independence was written as a basis for what was destined to become a new form of democracy, a Constitutional Republic.     Freedom, a Constitution with its Bill of Rights, and a unique federalism to even all States followed, and an exceptional ideology turned into a Country that became the leader of the World, and a magnet to everyone living abroad.

The notion of the “American dream” was symbolic of a population that desired liberty in the most profound definition of the word.    For our Founders, it represented free will without impediments to pursue beliefs, choice of lifestyle and/or pathways to happiness.    It guaranteed assurance of opportunities as a will of a God that gave us this desire as our most precious aspiration.

They fully understood that true happiness with oneself only came with the notion that we had fully assumed our responsibility of living our life’s as we chose and had achieved that by taking care of our needs.    Work over dependency, helping others instead of taking from others, praising success rather than envying, admiring nature rather than manipulating it, believing in a Creator and not mocking it, raising a family as a duty and a not a source of entertainment.

These were the main goals for our existence and if riches came they were secondary, not the reason for our contentment.     Our Forefathers understood that their goals required a special kind of citizen and worried about the consequences of a majority dominating the rights of all others with the simple act of voting.    The uniqueness of our system depended of the carefully crafted balance of powers.    Inevitably the Nation’s success brought fortunes and slowly but surely, materiality substituted spirituality as the attraction behind the “dream”.

Our country was blessed by immigrants that pursued the goal of liberty, choice and opportunity.    When the rich get richer, moral values are eroded, family units attacked, and responsibilities abandoned, the population becomes ripe for demagoguery and an easy prey for false promises.    A majority become “takers” and will support anyone that would promise the continuation of the hand-outs.    The only thing stopping the fear of a leader’s abuse of power was the separation of powers but with time as it has been proven in other countries this obstacle can be overcome.

Are we on the verge of a similar pathway to a one Party rule as in Venezuela, Russia, Nicaragua, Bolivia, and others, that through a manipulated popular vote their rulers keep control of government?     Is our population so corrupted by assistance from the authorities that they will sacrifice their being?     What has happened that achieved changing our American dream to anarchy?

Has it been a systematic attack of our way of life by a planned movement to dominate all Nations that in order to complete their goal of globalization needed a capitulation of the United States? or simply the product of what has happened throughout history that continued increase of riches allows evil to dominate over good?    Regardless, it has been a slow but inexorable erosion of what made our Nation great.

First the basics like family and religious beliefs and education, then the media and our elected officials, then exploiting differences instead unity, and recently our political system attacked trying to end our separation of powers, and the “will of the people in elections”.    All this changes lead to only one result; anarchy!

That is the only label that fits what we are presently living.    We are told what to read, what programs to watch, what statues to display, what names to use, and what words to speak.    When did we go from “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,” to banning a program that has a lovable dog dressed as a policeman?

When did we change from freedom to fascism?    It is happening right now, and inexorably anarchy is followed by a hard response and potential tyranny.    Whether from extreme right or left it makes no difference, we lose our individual rights.    Our political independent police and armed forces are a deterrent against oppressive rule, but I ask; is it a coincidence that they are now, police and army, under tremendous attack?

It behooves each one of us to defend our right as individuals which by definition means everyone’s right regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation.    It should be our goal to take over our free will from those that want to speak and/or act for us.    If not, God help us!
