We always have the family over on Christmas Eve. It’s a tradition with us. After dinner, I read the Christmas story from Luke. I would talk about the greatest gift ever given – our Lord Jesus- and then we open gifts to one another.

Christmas of 2019

Although it was less than a year ago, in my mind it seems like many years have passed. We gathered together as we always have. We hugged, we laughed and took pictures to capture the moments.

We were oblivious to what was about to occur that would change our lives forever. As we joyfully opened our gifts, the evil powers that be were in secret meetings and salivating at the thought that their moment was finally coming to fruition.
