Maria De Valle in my last Article

So, in my last article of 4/4/2025, “The need for another Civil War?, I made a comment that read “unfortunately, the fact that we went as far as electing a man who wants to turn this country around to what it was before, is just not enough friends.”
If you look in the comments section of this article, one of my followers, Maria Elena De Valle, writes, “when you say this man wants to turn the country around to what it was before… before when? Before When women could not open a bank account? Before when Black people were not authorized to vote? The good old days were not good for everyone, we must remember that.”
Well, I thought this comment deserved a response of more than one or two lines as, in my humble opinion, Mrs. De Valle’s questions are loaded and require detailed clarification. As such, the following is my response to Ms. De Valle.
Dear Ms. De Valle:
First, by the tone of your question, it is clear to me that you hold quite a resentment towards this nation. The type of resentment that all liberals, all in the Left, all democrats, all Marxists, Socialists and Communists have for this, the greatest nation on the planet. Your question, madam, reminded some of the same hate rhetoric that Fidel Castro promoted as he vilified the U.S., calling it an imperialist regime.
Now, madam, as to your specific allegations, you condemn the U.S. and talk about women’s right to open a bank account. Your claim is partially inaccurate. There is a Socialist myth that would have you believing that “it was illegal for women to have bank accounts in the 1960’s.” And this is not accurate. While it is true that it was not until 1974 upon the passing of Equal Credit Opportunity Act passed, that women in the U.S. were granted to open a bank account on their own, equally true is the fact that this century was filled with abundant key victories and milestones for women’s financial rights.
By the end of the women’s right movement in the early 1900’s women had won the right to vote, formed unions for working women, gained access to birth control and reclaimed property rights. In 1963, the passage of the Equal Pay Act minimized gender-based discrepancies, to mention a few.
Next, you go on to mention about “blacks right to vote,” and, I must say, with all due respect madam, your question is the very same racist rhetoric that Communism has been promoting over the last fifty years. In fact, reverse racism, has been one of this nation’s greatest downfalls – used by the Left, by liberals as a preferred talking point in their unending crusade to promote the nation’s transformation to another Communist nation. Shame on you, madam.
On the issue of white supremacy, on the historical abuses of black, may I politely remind you that, only in a country like ours, only in the U.S., only in a constitutional republic and democracy can you or will you find a nation that reversed its course of racism to where a Civil Rights revolution allowed for a 360° turn-around, as dramatic as even electing a black Communist as President of the greatest nation on earth. Would you not agree that this turn-around kind compensated for all the history of black oppression in this nation? On this very same subject, last time I checked, we had a Black woman running for president, did we not?
In summary, with all due respect, I find your comment and questions posed somewhat stupid, if I may say so. I take it you are a Cuban American and, judging from your age, I take it you are from the old exile block, who, like me and many others, should hail this nation for having given us all refuge from Communism. If you think the U.S. is as bad as your questions suggest, why did you come here to begin with and why did you stay? Do you think you would have had it better in Cuba?
When I talked about Trump turning around this country to what it was before, yes, I was talking about a U.S. that allowed for me, my family, and millions of Cubans to be taken in sparing us from the evils of Communism. I was referring that United States that has been the world’s bastion of freedom, despite all its societal flaws that transcend women’s right to open a bank account or Black people right to vote.
The United States that I am talking about madam, is the one that we had before a black Communist became president in 2008; a United States that has allowed people like you to use their first Amendment right to go as far as undermining the fundamental values willed us by our forefathers. The United States I am talking about is the one for which hundreds of thousands have sacrificed their lives so that you could enjoy the very freedoms that your homeland, Cuba, and many others lack.
This is, Ms. De Valle, the United States that Donald Trump aims to restore while some folks, like you, keep undermining it with rhetorical racist questions such as those posed to my article. May I politely urge you to review your short-sighted views of this nation, and/or otherwise maybe you prefer to have a Communist regime such as the one we have in Cuba – one where women can open bank accounts and Black people can vote!
Respectfully,
Obie Usategui
