To all my friends, followers:

If you happen to be a Christian Catholic as I am, maybe you know that God frequently call believers to give testimony of their faith throughout many Bible passages. In biblical terms, a “testimony” is a firsthand account of what God has done in your life and how He has transformed your heart.

In Mark 5:19, Jesus explicitly told those He healed to go and tell others what God had done for them. And that is precisely what I am about to do today in this narrative. If you all recall as recent as last December 22nd, I went public in sharing my ordeal with a near-death experience, which ended in my having to had dialysis, which I had started on this same date December 22nd. On that day, I was told by my doctor that they had to be honest with me my chances of getting out of dialysis were not very good, and that it would take a minimum of 3 to 4 months to evaluate my chances of not doing the treatment for the rest of my life; treatments of 4 hours per day and 3 times per week.

In short, like most all dialysis patients, as of December 22nd, my life was wholly dependent on a machine. Vis-à-vis, stopping treatment would have most patients die within weeks from the time they stopped – not quite too encouraging. Well, guess what folks? Yesterday, I was doing my Monday treatment and, just like that, Dr. Barrios, my dialysis specialist, appeared next to the reclining chair where I was sitting. He caught me all by surprise as I was not expecting him at all. I kid you not, he appeared much in the same way that angels are depicted in most all religious reflections.

Surprisingly, unbeknownst, unexpected, unforeseen, well, you get it, just like that, Dr. Barrios went on to tell me that they had run some labs, and the results were unexpectedly positive. My kidneys had started working again. The numbers for primary metrics used to evaluate kidney function, namely, eGFR, serum creatinine and uACR, had improved to where the nephrology team thought there was no need for me to stay in dialysis any longer. The decision was made to take me off dialysis immediately for at least a week and, if everything goes well, I am off permanently. Dr. Barrios told me that there were no patients in the dialysis center with metrics as good as those shown in my lab tests. When asked, Dr. Barrios, told me in no uncertain terms, from his medical perspective, my case was nothing short than a miracle – all in a period of less than one month.

When I first heard the news, I broke down and cried for a long time. A few of the nurses joined me in the emotions. I got to tell you all, the doctor was right. What just happened to me was nothing short of a miracle. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. What happened defies medicine and conventional wisdom. I cannot thank the Lord more for giving me back a life which we usually take for granted. And, following Jesus’ biblical request to give testimony to all those that have been healed – that is precisely what I am doing by sharing this narrative with you today.

As if this was not enough, two days back, I was also given a clean bill of health by my throat surgeon who told me, my throat cancer also appears to have gone after my radiation. So, dear friends, followers, all I can say is praise God. I want to give special thanks to all who have prayed for me, and I happen to know there have been many who had me in their prayers. Well, they worked! And I cannot thank you enough for it.

I do not know for how much longer God wants me around, but…for now, I can assure you He wants me to stay a bit longer as shown by my miracle. Well, this is my testimony.

Praise be to God for His Divine Intervention in sparing my life and healing me in a way that no one anticipated. Miracles do happen and I am living proof of it. Glory to God! And God bless you all. If you are moved by this narrative, I ask you kindly to share it with others. Thank you!!!!!
