EU Justice Commissioner Franco Frattini is one of the latest personalities who supports the concept of a European Sports Police.
The time has come to say NO to Hooliganism regardless of its origins and the idea of a European Sports Police Force is a step that would decrease the risk of hooliganism. Of course such forces must enforce the concepts against hooliganism.
The idea would be great for the American Continent which has also been affected by the madness of Hooliganism.

European sports police is great in principle, Interpol and Europol are also great in principle but these things don’t tend to work. The different forces in the UK don’t cooperate effectively. Also any move toeards a European police force is going to be unpopular here.
One of my Uncles used to be a football hooligan. He did it because he had no job, no prospects, and was anti-Government. It was the one thing Thatcher could do nothing about.
