The Democratic Debate in California between Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton transmitted by CNN was seen by the underwriter. I am willing to give the discussion of the issue by what I have seen, heard, and will add my opinion. In order to be transparent, I do not support either party. The opinions are of my own and a response to my inner feelings. As an Independent and a Libertarian, I tried to be objective but some of the responses to the questions needed my personal opinion. Obama started his speech by praising John Edwards for being a candidate who wanted to resolve the labour problem while he was criticizing Edwards just a few weeks ago. So much for the politics of the main parties including the Democrats.
Obama and Clinton started the debate by talking about when they “place their hands on the Bible” and talked about the problems that face America at the present moment. While Clinton and Obama started their introduction in a civilized manner, they cannot address nor resolve the problems since the Republicans and Democrats are the cause of the problems in America.
Mrs. Clinton talked about her differences with the Republicans and Mr. Obama but will not address the fact that she was in favour of the war in Iraq. Mr. Obama stated that he was never in favour of the war against Iraq. Yet when Bush invaded Iraq, Mr. Obama was silent on the issue. Martin Luther King Jr. said that those who do nothing to resist evil are as bad as those committing the evil. The War in Iraq damaged the Democrats [including Obama and Clinton] as well as the Republicans.
Clinton talked about Universal Health Care but was unable to explain where the money would come from. With their health care reforms, they have damaged the Democratic Party. Mr. Obama is willing to provide subsidies for those who cannot afford health care insurance but making his programme voluntary. Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama wake up and smell the coffee. It was the state that interfered in the mechanisms of health care that caused the health care crisis of today. Other causes have been the insurance company, the politicians, and the people who abused the health care system. What is needed is the state separating itself from health care and allowing the relationship between the patient and health care provider to flourish.
Mrs. Clinton talked about inaugurating her reforms for taxes and health care with Electronic Medical Records. I am surprised that she is unaware that the Department of Veterans Affairs Miami Florida Hospital and the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Florida are way ahead with Electronic Medical Records. There are hospitals that have electronic medical records. Mr. Obama also talked about Electronic Medical Records yet he is unaware of what has transpired in the above institutions.
Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama talked about the mortgage problem with Mrs. Clinton talking about an Interest Rate Freeze and Mr. Obama talking about a “Light Mortgage Problem”. Again it is the same swan song by the same two candidates who have nothing to offer but words. What would be needed is the separation of the state from the everyday mechanisms of life.
The Mainstream Press asked Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton the question about the immigration situation. Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton did not address the issue of immigration directly. Mrs. Clinton has been accused of not being present during immigration votes while Mr. Obama was passing immigration reform with Mc Cain. The problem is that the Republicans and Democrats have destabilized countries, invaded countries, started wars, which created the immigration mess that exists today. Obama, Clinton, and the Republicans are unable to do immigration reform. Again, while there is a need to address the immigration problem; one of the solutions is to have US Citizens who do not want to study and work do the work of undocumented workers. In fact, it would be a great idea if the governing elite were to do the work of undocumented workers. The USA should also withdraw from the Middle East, Korea, and other places where US Interests are not involved. The US should also withdraw from International Organizations such as the United Nations.
Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama talked about their achievements but it sounded tiring and was a recitation of a resume or Curriculum Vitae. Even though there were plenty of applause from the public, I wander if the audience was previously selected or was there a general admission. I also wander if the applause was for real. I heard the Green Party debate from San Francisco, California [on my Windows Media Player on the Internet] with Cynthia Mc Kinney as one of the participants and Cindy Sheehan as one of the moderators. The Green Party Debate appeared to be more lively with better ideas than the Republicans and Democrats. I say this taking into account that I am not a Green Party Member but addressing a poll taken by the San Francisco Chronicle which gave 42% to the Green Party as a Progressive Force.
I prefer to think on the positive scale that this is the first time where a Woman and an African American are debating for the first time when there were none. Regardless, the USA should heed the advice of the late Chinese Leader Deng Xioping: “The Colour and Classification of a Cat is Not Important. What is important is that it catches mice”. I share the attitude of the late Deng Xioping and believe that we need a President that is willing to help improve the daily lives of this country including the economy by reducing the size of government and empower the people to take responsibility for their actions.
Great commentary – again. Keep up the good work. Email me when you get a chance. I would like to talk.
