JOHNNY VASQUEZ: “LO MEJOR DE MI” AN OUT OF THIS WORLD ALBUM 

At a time when the music world has appeared to lose its soul, there are artists that have appeared in the scene proving the public that it has not happened. Johnny Vasquez with his Compact Disc recording of a recompilation of his hits from two decades of singing is an example. “Lo Mejor De Mi” is an album that is worth listening to for those who are romantic with a heart and soul. “Lo Mejor De Mi” is a calling for those who yearn for a romantic music of that caliber instead of the “fast food” type music churned out by people who write the music for the latest dollar.

 

Johnny Vasquez is not only famous in the Spanish Speaking World. He has made inroads into the English Speaking World with two songs with the following titles: “She’s An Army of One” and “This Love”. “She’s An Army of One” is the song that Johnny Vasquez wrote, sang, and recorded to honour the women of the United States Military who have gone to Iraq and elsewhere to serve their country. Before anyone starts bringing a discussion about the war, I am only talking about the music and the fact that it is a song for those women who have gone to war leaving family and friends behind. “She’s An Army of One” also deals with the life that women in the military have to deal with including adjusting to life after returning home. I know a Nurse who is currently serving in Iraq and the song describes what she must be going through. “She’s An Army of One” is also proof that the Latin Population in America is firmly dedicated to love the United States of America in spite of doubts from certain people.

 

The song: “This Love” is an example of the maximum dedication that a man can express towards a woman. It is a song that shows love in its purest form with a heart and soul. “This Love” is a song that proves that love is universal and conquers all forms of artificial boundaries. “This Love” is also a song that for those who are romantic but do not know how to openly express their love for a woman. It is a warm song that calms the soul. For I so loved this Compact Disc and Music that I bought it for my daughter. My daughter shared the Compact Disc and Music with my wife and she loved it as well.

 

His song “Por Fin Encontre El Amor” [“I Have Finally Found Love”] is also proof of the maximum expression of how a man can overcome all obstacles in order to find the woman of his life. “Por Favor” [“Please”] is a song for men who want the women in their lives to forgive them. I have heard songs of this caliber including “Woman” written and interpreted by John Lennon.

Other songs in this Compilation Compact Disc such as “Solitario” [“Loner”] , “Amiga” [“Female Friend”] , “Besandolas” [“Kissing Her”], “Este Amor” [“This Love”], and “Robacorazones” [‘Heart Thief”], “Veinticuatro Horas” [“Twenty Four Hours”], “Yo Vivo Igual” [“I Live The Same”], “De Piel A Cuerpo” [“Body To Body”] are great and deal with the phenomenon called Romance and Love that only a singer like Johnny Vasquez could record.

 

I personally give the Compact Disc Compilation a One Hundred Percent for the Verses, the Music, the Presentation, and the artistry of Johnny Vasquez. I hope to hear future recordings of this great romantic.
