America Ferrera: Her Life and Career

America Ferrera is one of the rising artists in the United States of America. From her humble beginnings in Los Angeles, California to the highest places in the society of Hollywood, she has made a name for herself in a medium and society called Hollywood that preaches human rights and equality while discriminating against Latins, Asians, Native Americans, and African Americans. In order to appreciate how America Ferrera managed to reach the pinnacle of such a «society» such as Hollywood, it is important to do a review of her life and career. For those who persists in stereotyping minorities and countries [including the US Mainstream Media and their people in Hollywood], America Ferrera grew up in a Jewish Neighborhood and admits that she is now learning Spanish in order to make films in Spain and Latin America.

America Ferrera was born on the eighteenth of April 1984 to Honduran Parents. She was the youngest of her six siblings. Her mother worked as a hotel executive and was in charge of the housekeeping staff. America Ferrera’s Mother stressed the importance of education in order to go far in life. This advice from her mother and the reality that life dealt her [including the divorce of her parents] influenced her heavily. In fact, she is pursuing her degree in college and balancing that with her acting career.

America Ferrera started her acting career in 2001 and has made movies such as «Real Women Have Curves», «Gotta Kick It Up», «$5.15 an Hour», «Darkness Plus Twelve», «Plainsong», «How The Garcia Girls Spent Their Summer», «The Sisterhood of Traveling Pants», «Lords of Dogtown», «Steel City», «Planet H2O», «Muertas», «La Misma Luna», «Hacia La Oscuridad», «The Sisterhood of Traveling Pants 2», «Tinker Bell», and «How To Train Your Dragon». Her Television Career includes: «Touched By An Angel», «CSI: Crime Scene Investigation», and «Ugly Betty». I saw the television series «Betty La Fea» and the English Version «Ugly Betty» and it was great. The purpose of the show is to teach people to accept each other for what they are on the inside instead of judging on the outside.

America Ferrera has been the recipient of many awards such as NAACP [National Association for the Advancement of Colored People] Image Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Screen Actors Guild Award, Primetime Emmy Awards, 1st Annual Wave Awards, Academy of Wireless Arts, Video and Entertainment, Image Awards, Imagen Foundation Awards, and Time Magazine. America Ferrera deserves mention in this tribute that I present to her and her career. America Ferrera will be remembered as one of the greatest actresses in the History of the Twenty First Century for her beauty [inward as well as outward] and her tenacity.
