According to CRI English, Prime Minister of Russia Putin and the President of Armenia arrived in China for the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics 2008. The President of the People’s Republic of China Hu Jintao received 11 Foreign Dignitaries for the Opening of the Beijing Olympics. 

According to CRI English, The eleven included Laotian President Choummaly Saygnasone, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, DPRK top legislator Kim Yong Nam, Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse, Serbian President Boris Tadic, Montenegro President Filip Vujanovic, and Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos Horta.
