Raul Gonzalez

Raul Gonzalez and Real Madrid are linked together to the point that a sports fan cannot talk about one without talking about the other. Raul Gonzalez [who is a second striker for Real Madrid] has contributed to enriching the History of Real Madrid for the 21st Century. Raul Gonzalez like other famous football [soccer] players deserves an honourable mention by discussing his life and career. In fact, Raul Gonzalez has been a UEFA Champion’s League winner three times and has sixty three goals to his record.

Raul Gonzalez was born in Madrid, Spain on the 27th of June in 1977 and almost immediately was showing promise of a great football [soccer] star. Raul Gonzalez started his career in various youth football [soccer] clubs such as San Cristobal de Los Angeles, Atletico Madrid, and Real Madrid before signing with Real Madrid as a Professional Player.

Raul Gonzalez has scored approximately 209 goals within 489 appearances in his career with Real Madrid and 44 goals within 102 appearances with the Spanish National Team. Raul Gonzalez is also the recipient of various awards such as Premio Don Balon, IFFHS World Goal getter, ESM Team of the Year, Pichichi Trophy, UEFA Champion League Top Scorer, European Footballer of the Year, FIFA World Player of the Year, UEFA Club Football Awards [Best Forward], FIFA 100, Trofeo Alfredo Di Stefano, Best Spanish Player in La Liga, and the Royal Order Gold Medal for Sports Merits.

The awards of Raul Gonzalez with Real Madrid has been as runner up for the following leagues such as La Liga, Copa Del Rey, Spanish Super Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and Intercontinental Cup as well as the UEFA Champions League. Raul Gonzalez has also represented Spain in the 1998 World Cup, 2002 World Cup, and the 2006 World Cup. It was a pity that Raul Gonzalez did not participate in the Euro 2008 Cup. Raul Gonzalez could have contributed in a positive manner to Spain even though Spain defeated Germany to win the Euro 2008 Cup.

The biggest award that Raul Gonzalez has is that he is happily married and has four sons from his marriage. Raul Gonzalez is a believer that the most important thing in life is that all of the glory may be past but family always survives. For his humanitarian efforts in Spain and in other countries of the world, he is known as El Angelito de Madrid [The Little Angel of Madrid]. My best wishes for Raul Gonzalez and my mother country of Spain.
