Maradona Mess

When Diego Armando Maradona was selected to coach the National Football [Soccer] Team of Argentina, the Football [Soccer] world was divided in its opinion. There were people who thought that Maradona would be responsible.

While there were people who were praising Maradona, others like me thought that the selection of Maradona as Coach of the Argentine National Football [Soccer] Team sent a wrong signal to those who think sports and drugs should be separated.

Many people thought that Argentina was living on its past glory and thought that Maradona would ruin the team

When Argentina was humiliated by Bolivia six to one in its classifying game for the 2010 World Cup, my theory and opinion passed the test. Maradona has not trained the players well for such an important game.

It appears that Maradona and he may not know it since he thinks he is the gift of the Gods to the world of Football [Soccer]. He cannot say much for what has happened in football [soccer].

From his beginnings as a promising star that later fell into the world of drugs and the self aggrandizing behavior that accompanies it, the loss of his country to Bolivia should be defined as the lowest point of his career.

Maradona’s career should have ended in the World Cup of Mexico 1986 when his so called «Hand of God» which was his hand by admission awarded a victory to Argentina.

Maradona’s career should have ended with the drug abuse since he has promised to rehabilitate himself but ends up falling. No other national team would have tolerated a Maradona in their midst. Why should Argentina be any different?

It is a crime that the world of football [soccer] has to tolerate such a person who is proud of his drug addiction and whose loyalty is nothing more and nothing less than “Maradona, Maradona, and Maradona”.

Argentina has players of Football [Soccer] who are better than Maradona but do not have the negative publicity that he has. In fact, they have no publicity since the press is in love with a narcissist football [soccer] player who appears more like the reincarnation of a French King called Louis XIV [who was the biggest narcissist in the history of mankind].

The only person that comes to mind to coach the Argentine National Football [Soccer] Team would be Riquelme since he knows his sport and is down to earth. Maradona detests Riquelme in the same realm that Count Dracula detests the sun.

When will Argentina wake up and smell the roses? Will Argentina learn the bitter lesson when it suffers a humiliating defeat in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa? These are questions that need to be answered by Argentina and its National Football [Soccer] Team.
