The President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe has told the SADC [Southern African Development Community] that there is no need for arbitration in the dispute between his ZANU-PF Party and the MDC.

He made his declarations via his Transportation Minister Nicholas Goche. At the present time, Zimbabwe appears to be divided with the MDC accusing ZANU-PF of arrests of pro democracy activists, lawyers, journalists, members of parliament, and continuing the invasion and confiscation of farms owned by the white settlers.

The MDC has also called to attention the appointments of the Head of the Reserve Bank and Attorney General by Mugabe and ZANU-PF without consultations with other members of the Power Sharing Government. The MDC and the MDC Splinter Party will continue their petition to SADC while ZANU-PF will say the opposite.

It remains to be seen what will transpire.
