The spring of 2009 was the season for the scandal of Alberto Cutie which left the Catholic Church and its followers thinking about celibacy. The same scandal divided many Latin Communities in the United States and Latin America. It has also generated an interest for the readers of Now Public.

I received an E Mail from a reader whose name is Jay Bee who wanted to know more about the Alberto Cutie. He wrote a series of questions which I tried to answer to the best of my knowledge. If there is any other information, there are articles about Alberto Cutie in Now Public.

I will now post verbatim the questions and answers with Jay Bee:

Jay Bee: I have been following the saga of AC from afar and I have some questions
in regard to the letter read by Mr. Rios concerning the arrest of Maxi
Paulus Ratunaman.

How did Alberto Cutie know where the car was parked?

He said that the car was parked in an upscale neighborhood and the neighbors called.
 
RCAG: I myself have tried to find the answer to that question. My personal opinion was that this was a poor excuse to hide his relationship. Alberto Cutie may have wanted to get rid of his rival for Ruhamma Cannelis and decided to fabricate this story as a way of getting rid of Mr. Ratunaman. I do not think that neighbours were called otherwise there would be documentation. One unidentified source told me that Mr. Ratunaman was the wrong person at the wrong place and that he was a «hard worker who wanted to make a living.» The other defect of Mr. Ratunaman was his status as an illegal alien that sealed his fate in this scandal. Until convinced otherwise, this is my personal opinion

Jay Bee: How did he know that the neighbors called, if so, is there a record of
the call in the police station?

Jay Bee: It is widely reported that after the pictures came out, Mr. Cutie
asked for millions to sit down for interviews; is there any truth to that?
 
RCAG: I do not think that there was any truth to that story. Mr. Cutie only gave an interview to Teresa Rodriguez of Univision. The rest of the press corp in Miami Florida attempted to interview him without any success. Gabriela Mori who is one of the journalists of Mega TV attempted to call Alberto Cutie many times on his cell phone but was unable to establish contact or Mr. Cutie refused to answer. During his wedding, there were armed guards that did not allow any member of the press with some exceptions to come in and take photos. There are rumours that Mr. Cutie may want to sell the photos of his wedding.
 
Jay Bee: I’ve read that there to be some nasty pictures, videos, stories to
come out about him, which is the reason why he orchestrated the show on the
beach, is there any truth to that? If so, how come nothing has come out so
far.
 
RCAG: The people who took the photos were interviewed in the Cristina Show [transmitted by Univision]. They started taking photos since they could not think of Alberto Cutie who was the priest that did no wrong was able to do what he did. The photographers took the photos and kept them hidden for a while because [according to the photographers] they did not want to have problems with their families and friends. The photos were taken to their supervisors who wanted to withhold publication until the matter was discussed with Alberto Cutie. The night before the publication of the scandalous photos, Alberto Cutie was notified about the photos. The case was being placed between a rock and a hard place.

It is hoped that the scandal would go away. After all, Alberto Cutie has been out of the radar since his Church wedding with Ruhamma Canellis. Another factor that has sidelined Alberto Cutie has been the following: the deaths of Farrah Fawcett/Michael Jackson and the Crisis In Honduras.

Only time will tell if the scandal will ever go away.
