Jesse Marsch who was one of the first players in the MLS is retiring after 14 seasons. He was one of the innuagural players of the MLS when it was born in 1996. He has played in 321 games with DC United, Chicago Fire, and CD Chivas USA.
He has also won three MLS Championship Games with the Chicago Fire one time and DC United two times. He signed with CD Chivas USA in 2006 and played 106 games in its regular season.
Mr. Marsch also participated in the US Football [Soccer] Team and has won in multiple games. While he will be retiring from active play, he will be the assistant coach of the US Football [Soccer] Team with his mentor Bob Bradley in time for the 2010 World Cup.
He will be missed and deserves a place in the history of the MLS [Major League Soccer] as well as US Soccer.
