The President of Paraguay Fernando Lugo went to the Mexico City Hospital where his fellow countryman Salvador Cabanas is a patient. Mr. Lugo met with Mr.Cabanas before going to the Rio Conference in Cancun.

Mr. Lugo was received by the President of Club America Michel Bauer and Cabana’s Nuerosurgeon Ernesto Martinez Duhart. The topic was the state of health of Salvador Cabanas. During his meeting with Cabanas, Mr. Lugo discussed football/soccer with the player.

Mr. Cabanas presented Mr. Lugo with an autographed shirt of the football/soccer club Club America. The autograph said: «Best Wishes from Cabanas».Mr. Lugo was amazed at the process of recovery of Mr. Cabanas.

The visit ended with best wishes from the Mr. Lugo and the Paraguayan Nation to Salvador Cabanas and his family. The visit lasted approximately 15 minutes. It was great that a head of state was willing to visit one of his countrymen at his time of need.

It is also a miracle that Salvador Cabanas has been able to recover.
