Chelsea Defeats Manchester United at Old Trafford
Chelsea faced Manchester United at their home in Old Trafford. It was the latest in a series of games in the Premier League between the titans. Manchester United was in first place followed by Chelsea in the Premier League.
The first half was full of heavy activity with both teams playing like if they were actually in the World Cup. While Manchester United was in possession most of the time, Chelsea was the dominant force in the game with Cole scoring the first goal at 20 minutes.
Florent Malouda was another player with the Chelsea Team who was able to kick the ball within the depths of the Manchester United penalty area. Chelsea was able to maintain its dominance for the first half with United unable to coordinate any response to the Blue Onslaught.
The second half had more excitement than the first with Manchester United being able to play a decent game. Chelsea remained with the upper hand especially with Drogba. Drogba was able to play a continuous game and the end result was a goal from an offside position within 79 minutes.
It appeared that Chelsea was going to leave United scoreless but Macheda scored a goal for the Old Trafford Team within 81 minutes. Macheda was one of the few who managed to help United with a dignified exit. Berbatov [who is another United player] did almost nothing to save the game or at least attempt an equalizer.
Chelsea is currently in first place in the Premier League with 74 points followed by Manchester United with 72 points and Arsenal at 69 points. Chelsea has a chance to win the Premier League although there can be surprises with Manchester United refusing to give up.
It appears that the remaining 2009-2010 Premier League Season is going to offer a lot of excitement for its fans in England and the world before the start of the 2010 World Cup. The reasons are the two teams within a hair length of each other in first and second place in the EPL.
The Most Valued Players in my opinion were Cole and Drogba for their disicipline, coordination, and quick thinking which is required in football/soccer. The attendance at Old Trafford was 75,217 people.
The score was Manchester United 1-2 Chelsea with the game played at Old Trafford at the Greater Manchester Area in England.
The best football club in the world. Glory Glory Man United !!!
