JONATHAN BORNSTEIN TO THROW OUT CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCH AT SUNDAY’S LOS ANGELES DODGERS GAME
 
Los Alamitos native and World Cup hopeful Bornstein to visit Dodger Stadium on Sunday afternoon
 
CARSON, Calif. (Friday, May 7, 2010) – Chivas USA defender Jonathan Bornstein, a native of Los Alamitos and potential member of the United States National Team for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in South Africa, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Sunday’s game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies at 1:05 p.m. PT at Dodgers Stadium. Bornstein, 25, is a graduate of Los Alamitos High School and spent his college years at Cal Poly Pomona and UCLA. Drafted in the fourth round of the 2006 MLS SuperDraft, the defender earned 2006 MLS Rookie of the Year honors, and was named an MLS All-Star in 2007, 2008, and 2009. He has made 29 appearances for the United States National Team, helping the squad win the 2007 Gold Cup and earn second place in the 2009 Confederations Cup. The United States roster for the upcoming FIFA World Cup will be named in the coming weeks.
 
Chivas USA will host the Houston Dynamo tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. PT on Armed Forces Night at The Home Depot Center. The match will feature a special camouflage jersey for Chivas USA, as well as many other events involving and honoring the Armed Forces.
