CHIVAS USA HOSTS A SPECIAL CLINIC FOR BLIND CHILDREN IN ORANGE COUNTY
Chivas USA and World Access for the Blind team up for this unique clinic in Garden Grove
CARSON, Calif. (Saturday, July 17, 2010) – Chivas USA and World Access for the Blind hosted on Saturday a unique soccer clinic for blind children in Orange County at Arena Soccer Park in Garden Grove, Calif. The clinic, led by a certified Chivas USA academy coach, taught the children basic soccer techniques. The event also helped raise awareness of the blind and demonstrate that they can overcome physical limitations and enjoy sports activities such as soccer.
An added treat for the children was a special appearance by Chivas USA Goalkeeper Zach Thornton and the team’s popular mascot, the ChivaFighter. Both were on hand to support the children and to teach them soccer skills.
