CONCACAF Investigates Possible Match Fixing/CONCACAF Investiga Posible Trampa en Partido Entre Real Salt Lake VS Arabe Unido

The spokesperson for CONCACAF Benjamin Spencer told an interviewer from the newspaper Panama America that the association is investigating a possible match fixing scheme to influence the results between Real Salt Lake and Arabe Unido during their last game in the Champions Game.

The investigation comes in the wake of the victory of Real Salt Lake over Arabe Unido of 2-1 in the Group A game. The football clubs Toronto FC and Cruz Azul are also part of Group A but are not involved in what is transpiring at the present time.

While there have been no reports of match fixing within the players, the CONCACAF is still investigating what they consider «third parties» in this situation. CONCACAF is already in the first phase of the interview.

They announced that there will be a second phase of the interview after videos showed «people entering a hotel although no players were present».

While the CONCACAF spokesperson has announced that they do everything to maintain the integrity of soccer, I am asking myself the question. Where is the proof of match fixing besides people entering a hotel room?

Who are the people of the «third parties» which are committing the match fixing?

The only thing that I can think is that this is a breaking news story with more evidence which will be forthcoming.
