Chivas USA Game Notes – (1-2 loss vs. Houston Dynamo, Robertson Stadium, Houston, TX, 6/11/11)
 
·         Chivas USA faced Houston Dynamo on Saturday night and fell by score of 2-1 at Robertson Stadium before 19,333 fans. Forward Marcos Mondaini scored his third goal of the season early in the game (7th minute). Dynamo midfielder Geoff Cameron tied the match at minute 29th, and Chivas USA defender Heath Pearce scored an own-goal at the 56th minute that gave the victory to the home team. 
·         Chivas USA took advantage of a Houston mistake early in the game when forward Marcos Mondaini intercepted a ball from Dynamo defender Hunter Freeman, faced Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall, and scored his third goal of the season to take the lead 1-0.
·         Dynamo responded through Geoff Cameron who scored the equalizer with a header in the 29th minute. Dynamo’s captain, midfielder Brad Davis tied the game for the home team by placing the soccer ball right in the center of the box and Cameron converted with a header to level the score 1-1.
·         Houston’s winning goal came from a series of rebounds near the Red-and-White goal on a corner kick that resulted in defender Heath Pearce scoring an own goal in the 56th minute. The Goats fought back and were close to equalize the match when defender Michael Lahoud crossed the ball to midfielder Paulo Nagamura who shot inside the box but it went slightly wide at the 70th minute.
·         With the lost, Chivas USA’s season record moves to (4-5-5), and remains in the seventh place in the Western Conference with 17 points. The Red-and-White will return to training at The Home Depot Center on Tuesday and will prepare to face the FC Dallas on Saturday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m. PT (Prime Ticket, delayed to 10:30 p.m. PT, and KWHY 690 AM).
·         Chivas USA Head Coach Robin Fraser about tonight’s match: “When we decided to play, we were quite good, and we were able to play through them, which was a difficult thing to do here with this team and the kind of pressure they put on. I thought that at times when we played confidently, we were able to possess our way pretty well up the field.”
