Bradford Jamieson Traveled To Spain As Part Of The 22-Player Roster

Carson, CA. (Friday, October 14, 2011) – Chivas USA forward Under 17 Bradford Jamieson was named to the U.S. Men’s National Team roster that traveled to Spain for the 2011 Albir Garden Sports Cup in L’Aflas Del Pi, Spain.  With this call up the Chivas USA Youth Academy once again comes through with its purpose and commitment in developing and producing more talent to the US Men’s National Team and the future success of soccer in America.

The U.S. begins tournament play Oct. 15 when the squad takes on familiar foe Mexico. Two days later, the U.S. faces U.A.E., followed by Russia on Oct. 19. The team wraps up the event Oct. 20 against host Spain.

“We are very proud of Bradford for this call up and we wish that he does well,” commented Chivas USA General Manager – Jose Domene. “This is a good example of the great work being done by our youth academy, I am sure that with our new academy program we will have more Chivas USA youth players represent their country. This experience will give him [Jamieson] great exposure at the international level and in preparation for a bright future in professional soccer.”

U.S. Soccer’s U-17 Residency Program features 32 of the country’s top players in the age group converging and training daily in Bradenton, Fla. The team is at the beginning of a two-year cycle that will culminate with the 2013 CONCACAF U-17 Championship with the goal of qualifying for the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. The U.S. is the only nation to have qualified for all 14 previous editions of the FIFA U-17 World Cup and is coming off a Round of 16 appearances in the 2011 event in Mexico.
