CARSON, CA. (Sunday, October 23, 2011) – Chivas USA tied 3-3 versus the reserves league leading Seattle Sounders FC (25 points) in the final match of the MLS Reserve League at The Home Depot Center’s practice field #4 this Sunday morning. An early wake-up call for all as the Sounders FC opened up the scoring in the second minute and would have scored their three goals all within the first 14 minutes of play. However the Goats would not be denied and would counter with two goals of their own, one from Estupiñan and another from Spencer (Chivas USA Academy U18 player) all before the end of the first half. Once the second half kicked off both squads battled throughout the pitch with the Red and White taking the advantage in possession in Seattle’s final third of the pitch. Nearing the end of the match, goat Greg Vanney would score the equalizer in the 88th minute from a set piece just outside the box. In the 14th minute Noonan would score his second of the match (third for the season) assisted by Michael Tetteh, giving the Sounders FC a 0-3 advantage.

Just eleven minutes later Chivas USA Youth Academy U18 player Ben Spencer, assisted by another Goats´ Youth U18 player Markie Delgado, would score his first career goal in MLS Reserves League.

Chivas USA´s defender Greg Vanney returned as center back for the Goats and in a big way. Just two minutes before the 90th minute and final whistle of the match, Vanney would put a free kick from just outside the box in the back of Seattle’s net, thus equalizing the match at 3-3.

The Red and White Youth Academy players once again had an opportunity to mix it up on the pitch and showcase their talent during this match. Markie Delgado and Ben Spencer would both start for the Goats and would play prominent roles in the hard-fought battle from behind for the Rojiblancos.
