CHIVAS USA ANNOUNCES PROTECTED PLAYER ROSTER
FOR UPCOMING MLS EXPANSION DRAFT
 
CARSON, CA. (Monday, November 21, 2011) Chivas USA announced today the list of protected and unprotected players for the upcoming Major League Soccer Expansion Draft to take place this coming Wednesday, November 23rd. Results will be announced at 12:00 noon (Pacific Time).
 
The League´s 19th expansion team that will join the MLS in 2012, the Montreal Impact, will have the option to select 10 players –no more than one player per team, from 10 teams around Major League Soccer.
 
Chivas USA´s protected 11-Man roster is as follows:
 
Goalkeeper: Dan Kennedy
Defenders: Heath Pearce, Michael Umaña
Midfielders: Jorge Flores, Ben Zemanski, Paulo Nagamura, Nick LaBrocca, Ryan Smith
Forwards: Juan Pablo Angel, Alejandro Moreno, Justin Braun
The following Chivas USA players are unprotected and Montreal Impact has the option to pick one:
 
Goalkeepers: Zach Thornton, Sergio Arias
Defenders: Mariano Trujillo, Zarek Valentin, Andew Boyens, Ante Jazic, David Junior Lopes
Midfielders: Chukwudi Chijindu, Laurent Courtois, Simon Elliot, Blair Gavin, Michael Lahoud, Gerson Mayen,
Forwards: Chris Cortez, Victor Estupiñán, Marcos Mondaini
 
The full Montreal´s 10-Players list will be announced in a Press Conference from their Montreal´s offices at 12:00 noon (Pacific Time). This event will be streamed live through MLSsoccer.com on Wednesday, Nov. 23rd.
