RED AND WHITE COMMUNITY

Chivas USA received 1,200 students as a part of its year-long partnership with the Orange County Gang Reduction and Intervention Program (OC GRIP), this past Sunday, March 11 at the Home Depot Center, for an assembly prior to the match between Chivas USA and the Houston Dynamo. Throughout the 2012 Chivas USA season OC GRIP will occupy a section at the Home Depot Center that has been branded as, the GRIP ZONE. This section has a total of 323 season seats that students will have an opportunity to enjoy as an incentive of the program.

During Sunday´s pre-game assembly, students and parents were addressed by Chivas USA CEO, Lorenzo Cue; goalkeeper, Patrick McLain; Stanton Police Chief, Jeff Passalaqua, as well as other personalities. Among the different elements that were covered during the assembly, were the announcements of the names of eight students that will be mentored by four Chivas USA players and four Chivas USA executives throughout the school year; player appearances at schools, and a special event for the GRIP.
