Goats Take 3 Points in First-Ever Meeting With Montreal
Chivas USA (5-7-3) defeated the Montreal Impact (4-8-3), 2-1, in front of 10,376 fans Wednesday night at The Home Depot Center. The Rojiblancos were lifted to victory behind goals from Alejandro Moreno and Juan Pablo Angel. Montreal midfielder Felipe Martins scored the Impact’s lone goal.
Six Goats Nominated for MLS All-Star Team
On July 25th the MLS All-Star team will take on UEFA Champions League Winners Chelsea FC at PPL Park in Chester, Pennsylvania in the 2012 AT&T MLS All-Star game, and up to six Chivas USA players are hoping to be there. Last week, MLS announced that goalkeeper Dan Kennedy, defender James Riley, midfielders Nick LaBrocca and Oswaldo Minda, and forwards Alejandro Moreno and Juan Pablo Angel were among the nominees for the MLS roster.
Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Run
On Tuesday June 26th, Chivas USA will attempt to reach the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup semi-finals for the second time in club history. The Red-and-White host USL side Charlotte Eagles in a quarter-final match-up at Titan Stadium, on the campus of Cal State Fullerton, at 7:30 p.m.
