Forward Alejandro Moreno caught the rebound and shot but Hartman deflected again, the ball found the left post and went outside the turf for the first Chivas USA corner kick in the 13th minute.

·         Chivas USA insisted in the second half and created several opportunities when midfielder Oswaldo Minda found a ball in the right side of the field and crossed hoping to find sub Casey Townsend but FC Dallas defender Matt Hedges deflected for a corner kick that sub Laurent Courtois cashed with five Goats inside the box in the 82nd minute. Home team defender Andrew Jacobson cleared the area but Red-and-White defender James Riley insisted and crossed de ball but FC Dallas defensive line was attentive and cleared the area.

·         Chivas USA found and opportunity again through midfielder Ben Zemanski who placed the ball inside the six-yard box but Hedges cleared the area and killed the chance for the Goats in the 83rd minute.

·         The battle throughout the match between both squads was in the midfield, where Minda worked incessantly blocking the attacks of the home team. Goats goalkeeper Dan Kennedy saved his team in several occasions keeping the board scoreless. Midfielder Nick LaBrocca made a great comeback after being off the team since May 23rd due to a hamstring injury that occurred during the match against the New York Red Bulls. LaBrocca entered the pitch in the 63rd minute for Agudelo to reinforce the midfield.
