GOATS NOTES
‘Chelis’ Making Use of – almost – All His Pieces
Of the 27 players Head Coach Jose Luis Sanchez Sola has at his disposal, the first-year MLS manager has already used 23 (not including back-up goalkeepers) in game action, 10 of which were making their MLS debut for the Rebaño Angelino. Of the 10 MLS debutes, four have already scored goals for the Rojiblancos.
Red-and-White lead MLS with Eight Goals
The Red-and-White struggled early last season to find the back of the net. But thanks to a league-leading eight scores, Chivas USA has got off to a solid start and currently sits in second place with seven points in the West. The Goats, under new Head Coach Jose Luis Sanchez Sola “Chelis,” look to extend their unbeaten streak to four while trying to win back-to-back matches for the first time since last April. Chivas USA did not score its eight goal until the 12th match, a feat that was achieved in a third of the time this
season. By Week 5 of last season, the Goats had just one win in four games to go along with three losses.
Goal Distribution
With a league-leading eight goals scored, six different players have scored for the Red-and-White so far, with forward Juan Agudelo’s team-leading two.
