CARSON, Calif. (Sunday, June 30, 2013) – Chivas USA announced today that the club has sent back midfielder Giovani Casillas to Club Deportivo Guadalajara, and has parted ways with defender Joaquín Velázquez and declined options for midfielders Miller Bolaños and Laurent Courtois.

Casillas came to Chivas USA on loan from brother club Chivas de Guadalajara in February of 2013. In his first Major League Soccer season the 19-year-old midfielder played in five games, two as a starter.

Velázquez joined the Red-and-White in February 2013, after having spent the majority of his career playing for Mexican First Division team Puebla F.C. While with Chivas USA, the veteran defender started in all 12 matches he appeared in for the Goats and scored one goal in the team’s 4-1 victory over the Chicago Fire on March 24.

Bolaños arrived to the Goats on loan from Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito in Ecuador’s Serie A in January 2012. In 29 games played with Chivas USA, five this season, the 23-year-old scored three goals and gave four assists.

Courtois made his way to the United States with Chivas USA in August 2011. Prior to his arrival the midfielder was with French club Grenoble Foot 38 for three seasons after stints in different European clubs in France, England and Spain. In three seasons with the Red-and-White, the midfielder played in 33 games, five this campaign.
