HOW LOW CAN ONE GET? 9/11/2020
Jose Antonio xxxxx xxxxxx was born on April 21, 1936, in Cuba. Jose was needlessly lost to a preventable death on September 4, 2020, due to COVID-19. He leaves behind 4 children, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He will be cremated. Jose was a loving father and grandfather who was a political refugee.
He was jailed for 12 years in Cuba where he was treated horribly and tortured for protesting Fidel Castro. He sought asylum in the United States on the Mariel in 1980. He later became a citizen and called Miami home where he raised his family. Jose, like so many others, should not have died from COVID-19; his family should not be marked by COVID.
His death is due to the carelessness of Governor Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump who rushed to reopen without a plan, causing cases to skyrocket in Florida. They refuse to acknowledge the severity of the crisis or give clear direction on how to mitigate or minimize risk. The Cuban American community and other communities of color are stuck with the bill: needless, preventable deaths.
Our society, traditionally based on personal freedom and moral values, has deteriorated to such an extent that not only we are losing our freedom of speech, and are living in the mist of anarchy, but our basic principles have been subordinated to an effort towards a radical change in our country.
Make no mistake, the fight against Trump is not political it is the excuse used by the silent minority to strike the last blow in their long effort to take over the United States and subjugate “we the people” to their doles, and judgment. It has been planned and executed for many decades, by dominating and changing our education, basic family and religious values. This cabal of politicians and powerful corporations was achieving their purpose by “free” elections in which regardless of Party the planned erosion continued.
Then out of nowhere came Trump. Trump, a non-politician and a person with obvious personality flaws was their worst nightmare as his defects were the right antidote for the poison they were selling. In their hysteria for this unanticipated event, they might have overreacted. The unending investigations, attempts at a civilian “coup d’ etat” failing, they are in the process of trying to change all aspects of our lives.
It was injurious enough to interfere in our sports, an outlet used by many people to forget their day to day problems. Every game now comes with a political component, and even our sport journalists have converted to being political analysts. How low can low get? Now even the dead are being exploited. This obituary in the Miami Herald is not unique as I have read many, all with the exact same wording. I do respect the deceased so I blocked the name!
Forget about character and/or personality we have Trump, not as an ideal president, but the only present pathway to salvation. They know that and by their behavior they only proof the obvious.
