It appears that the reconciliation process in Zimbabwe is far from over with the arrest and detention of Jestina Mukoko. Ms. Mukoko was rearrested after receiving false accusations of attempting a coup against President Mugabe.

The Magistrate Catherine Chimanda has revoked bail because of an indictment which accuses Ms. Mukoko of banditry, terrorism, and sabotage. This latest incident may threaten the attempts of reconciliation and the power sharing deal between the MDC and ZANU-PF.

In other news, the Progressive Teacher’s Union in Zimbabwe has called off their strike after an agreement was reached to reduce fees for students while the children of teachers are exempt from them. It was done in spite of the fact that the Union was asking for a wage increase for the teachers.

 It remains to be seen what will transpire.

El Gobierno de Zimbabwe detuvo de nuevo a la Srta. Jestina Mukoko bajo las acusaciones de intentar un golpe de estado contra el Presidente Mugabe. Otras acusaciones formulada para controlar a la disidencia en ese pais son robo, sabotaje, y terrorismo.

Parece que el gobierno de Mugabe no quiere compartir el poder o quiere intentar un golpe constitucional como otros dirigentes.

Mientras tanto, fue resuelto la huelga de los maestros con promesas de rebajar las matriculas y exonerar a los hijos de maestros de las matriculas.
