The Other Side of Michael Jackson

While the world prepares to bid farewell to the King Of Pop, there is another side that has been barely discussed. Michael Jackson once appeared on the Dating Game, had a cartoon series, and was once on the Mike Douglas show with Janet Jackson. There was also a variety show as well as a special with Bill Cosby.

The King of Pop made an appearance in The Dating Game on September 1, 1972. The clip can be appreciated in the You Tube webpage. It is great not only for those who love Michael Jackson but also for those who remember the 1970’s.

There was also a cartoon series which aired on ABC [if the underwriter is not mistaken] from 1971 to 1973 on Saturday Mornings. The underwriter could still remember [since he lived in the early 1970’s] that the school girls who hung posters of Michael Jackson would watch the series while others would watch the Osmonds on Saturday Morning.

While the underwriter attempted to find a clip of the Mike Douglas show on You Tube, he stumbled across one concerning the Jackson Variety Show. The special with Bill Cosby was called: «Take Me Back To Indiana» and also deserves special mention and publicity.

It is surreal that people who have talked about Michael Jackson since his death did not ask to have these segments aired on TV to remember him. It would have served as a fitting tribute to the legend.
