ROJIBLANCOS GO INTO BYE WEEK AFTER 1-1 DRAW AND RETURN FOR FINAL HOME GAME OCT. 20 AGAINST COLORADO

Chivas USA enters its bye week after playing FC Dallas to a 1-1 tie Sunday evening at home. The Rojiblancos return to action to host the Colorado Rapids at The Home Depot Center for Fan Appreciation Day, Saturday, Oct. 20. The game will be the third and final meeting between the clubs, with Colorado taking the first meeting of the season series and the sides later tying in the second. The match kicks off at 7:30 pm PT and will broadcast live on Fox Sports West in English and KWHY Channel 22 in Spanish.

GOATS NOTES AND FACTS

Jazic and Minda Called Up For Qualifiers

Chivas USA’s Ante Jazic and Oswaldo Minda were called into their respective country’s national teams for FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. Both Canada and Ecuador will be in action Oct. 12 when Jazic and Team Canada host Cuba in Toronto and Minda and La Tri host Chile in Quito. The two-game qualifying round continues on Oct. 16 for both countries, with Canada traveling to San Pedro Sula to face Honduras and Ecuador traveling Puerto La Cruz to meet Venezuela. Canada currently has seven points in CONCACAF’s Group C at 2-1-1. Ecuador is near the top of CONMEBOL standings with 13 points and a 4-2-1 record.

 

Moreno Reaches Vanney

With his appearance in Sunday’s game, Alejandro Moreno has played in 270 matches (216 starts) in his MLS career and has now matched Assistant Coach Greg Vanney in all-time appearances. The Venezuela native moved past his head coach on June 20 for games played, as Robin Fraser finished his distinguished MLS career with 260 life-time appearances.

                                                                                                             

Iron Goats

All-Star goalkeeper Dan Kennedy is the only Goat that has played in every minute (2880) of Chivas USA’s 32 games this season. Right back James Riley has also recorded an impressive 2790 minutes in 31 games, sitting one match out to serve a red card suspension.

 

BOLAÑOS NOMINATED FOR LATINO DE LA JORNADA 31”

Chivas USA midfielder Miller Bolaños is nominated for MLS’ Latino de la Jornada 31, for his performance in Sunday’s 1-1 draw at home versus FC Dallas. The 22-year-old Ecuadoran recorded his fourth assist of the season when his cross in the 69th minute found Jorge Villafaña for the equalizer. To read blog click link below

Chivas USA Career Panel and Internship Program

Chivas USA will host its second of six scheduled career panels. The Red-and-White organization has partnered with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP for the third year in hosting the career panel series in collaboration with the Youth Policy Institute. As a strong supporter of higher education, Chivas USA will be actively participating in the career panels to promote the importance and the benefits of achieving higher education to the youth of Los Angeles.
