CHIVAS USA AND PORTLAND TIMBERS TRADE POSITIONS IN THE MLS ALLOCATION RANKING
CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, December 12, 2012) – Chivas USA has traded its second-overall position in the allocation ranking in exchange for the Portland Timbers’ third-overall position in the allocation ranking and either a 2013 international roster spot, or a second-round pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft should the Timbers acquire one.
The 2013 MLS SuperDraft takes place on Jan. 17 at 9 a.m. (PT) in Indianapolis – the second time the city has served as host of the event. The Indiana Convention Center will play host to the annual event. The SuperDraft will consist of two rounds with 19 picks each for the second straight year, followed by a four-round Supplemental Draft held via conference call on the following Tuesday, Jan. 22.
