Take a few moments to consider the important calls you have received. Some of my calls brought unexpected bad news and others were about joyful events. There were calls that opened up new opportunities and others that basically slammed doors on my face. We all get calls of many types, for many different reasons, and with all degrees of consequences. You might forget most, but a few stay with us forever. Today I am thinking about the call to live with a particular orientation and purpose. The Apostle Paul wrote to his friends in Ephesus and his words are read frequently today by Christians. We do this because from time to time we all need to be reminded to live in a way that is worthy of the calling to which we have been called. That call is essentially to follow the example of Christ. I hope you need a challenge, because this way of life requires humility and gentleness, with patience and bearing one another in love. (Eph 4:2) This call keeps coming back in so many ways. Let us reflect deeply into every aspect of our daily activities, values and life goals. The four pillars listed above will sustain you as you continue to answer the important calls which without a doubt you will get from time to time. Let humility, gentleness, patience and love permeate your thoughts, words, and actions in such a way that you may be found worthy. Please, pick up when you get your call!
Peace and Grace!
